This paper investigate the various composite materials options suitable for designing space based payload system. Due to extreme space environment temperature generally three types of thermosetting polymer matrix materials are used such as polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy. Similarly fibers are also categorized and presented in this paper. Macromechanics mainly consists the behavior of various stiffness matrices of composite materials. One petal of space antenna reflector is taken as subsystem for design with composite material. Macromechanics behavior of it is formulated with PTC Creo and correlated with MATLAB code.
