Abstract: The oil spillage is one of the major problems which take years to be cleaned up. There are various process like physical, chemical and biological process involved in clearing the oil spills but bioremediation is now the best successful initiative to mitigate and to recover the areas contaminated with hydrocarbons and has been the preferred process for clean-up contamination around the oceans of the world and was also cheap and efficient. Basically there were particular microorganisms involved in degrading oil effectively in particular environment. This review illustrates the degradation capacity of various microorganisms which incorporates bioremediation process in oil spills.
Keywords: Oil spillage, bioremediation, hydrocarbon, degrading capacity, clean-up.
