Ficus racemosa is a plant species in the family Moraceae. The bark of this tree is made as a paste and used to treat insect bites commonly. In dentistry, the leaves of this tree are powdered and applied on gum swellings till cure. Dental caries is a transmissible infectious disease caused primarily by Streptococcus mutans. The aim of this study was to evaluate anticariogenic activity of Ficus Racemosa against Streptococcus mutans. Methods:Anti bacterial activity is determined by disc diffusion method by adopting In vitro standard protocol. Results : According to the obtained results, the inhibitory activity against S.mutans is observed in 10mg/ml in broth dilution method. Conclusion: Ficus racemosa possess significant anti cariogenic effect when tested in vitro.
