| Abstract: | Stem cells are the basic building blocks of the body and have the potential to replenish other cells and give rise to number of tissues which constitute different organs. Major sources of stem cells are bone marrow, peripheral blood, placental cord blood or cord blood, and embryo. The placental cord blood is one of the richest and non- controversial sources of stem cells. They are the building blocks of the blood, immune system and precursors of various cells and tissues. Through convenience sampling techniques was used to select 30 staff nurses. A structured questionnaires was used to assess the level of knowledge about placental stem cell. A post test was conducted by using same set of tools. Analysis revealed that the chi square value of significant association between the level of knowledge regarding in-service education programme. |
