| Abstract: | Aim- The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and awareness of oral and maxillofacial surgery speciality among the medical and dental professionals, paramedics and general public. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire-based survey held in Institute of Dental Sciences and Rohilkhand Medical College and hospital, Bareilly containing 20 questions was circulated to medical and dental professionals, general public and paramedics and their responses were recorded. Results: Total 1800 participants were included in this study in which mean 39.46 % referred to OMFS for clinical situations. Conclusion: The specialty of OMFS is critical for addressing injuries, deformities, and diseases of the maxillofacial region. There is a need to promote and increase awareness regarding the wide spectrum of work being performed by Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons. |
