Abstract: The objective of this study was to see the effect of guidance and counseling services on academic performance and career choice of students in selected secondary schools of Jaipur district. Descriptive survey design has been used. Descriptive survey design was used. The researchers purposively selected jaipur district. The researcher selected six schools (3 RBSE schools and 3 CBSE schools) using simple random sampling technique. Finally, 15 students in each school were selected using simple random sampling, thus a total of 30 senior secondary school students participated in the study. For the purpose of this study, a hypothesis was generated. Data was collected using a researcher-designed instrument tagged "Effect of Guidance and Counseling Services on Students' Career Choice Questionnaire". T-test statistics were used to test hypotheses at the 0.05 significance level. The findings of this study showed that there was no significant difference based on the type of school. However, a significant difference was found based on the gender of the respondents and the number of times the students had visited the counselor. It was therefore recommended that the Ministry of Education should ensure that guidance and counseling units are set up in all RBSE and CBSE senior secondary schools in Jaipur district.
