A need for waste collection, processing, recycling or disposal is provided by Edible wraps made of natural, biodegradable, plant-based. Gelatin has wide applications in industry from cosmetics to pharmaceutical drugs. the key characteristics of gelatin are the low melting point and the high gel strength, which makes it preferable for food and packaging applications. corn starch is possible with food packaging because of its low price, abundant reserves, edibility, and degradability. several advantages are also had by cellulose-based films as inexpensiveness, low density, non-toxicity, versatility, and superb mechanical properties. A renewable alternative to plastic food packaging is offered by biodegradable, edible wheat gluten films. Wheat gluten is a good option is found because it forms a fibrous network, lending strength and elasticity to films. Tragacanth-gum based films have promising properties e.g., biodegradability, non-toxicity, colorless, and odorless along with showing a good barrier toward oxygen transfer. Glycerine is always added to gelatin films as a plasticizer because the hydrogen bonds between gelatin chains. thus, the stretchability of gelatin films can be increased with the addition of glycerine. Packaging materials triggered an increased interest in the development of edible bio-based films for food packaging gelatin-based bio-plastic is prepared by gelatin glycerin and water. In analysis of this biodegradable plastic all the result was observed like thickness, moisture content, density, water solubility, biodegradation test and sensory analysis. In addition to these various studies have been studied positively like comparative study with plastic, storage study of bio-plastic and bio plastic application on different food products. an important and effective way to protect food against unfavorable chemical and microbial changes is provided by packaging.
