Abstract: In our planet, around 70 percent of the surface is comprising of water. It is important to perform communications using underwater devices. Acoustic communications underwater need higher power than the terrestrial sensor networks. There is a wide scope in research and exploration area and also there is a need of a better network in UWSNs. Our work is mainly focused on reducing the energy efficiency of nodes in the underwater communication. Based on the survey, we came to know that NS2 simulators and MAC protocols are used to make energy efficiency in UWSNs, but there is early sleeping problem in which nodes may sleep as per their activation time and data may get lost for long messages. We introduced the Ant Colony Optimization algorithm (ACO) implementation for effective routing in order to have low power of energy to improve efficiency between the communication of nodes. By using Leach protocol, an effective clustering method is used to minimize the use of energy and it identifies the cluster head using MATLAB simulator. So, classification of nodes to prevent from connection failures and improve end-to-end delay. By this we can say that the main motivation is to increase the lifetime of the Underwater Wireless Sensors by reducing the energy consumption used during each transmission and receiving of data packets.
