Paddy cultivation is considered one of the main crops in Sri Lanka. Paddy crops are affected by different kinds of diseases, lack of knowledge of farmers on early symptoms of paddy diseases causes major losses in the agriculture industry. Early identification of paddy diseases and apply suitable drugs for the diseases increase the profit in paddy cultivation. So, it is essential to provide an efficient method to identify paddy diseases. This study focused to develop a paddy disease identification and drug suggestion system using deep learning technologies and expert systems. A Fully connected convolution neural network approach was used to identify paddy diseases and suitable drugs were suggested by expert systems. This study mainly focuses on five rice diseases such as Cerospora Sheath Rot, Early Leaf Lesion, Grain Discoloration, Galls on Panicle, and Leaf Blast. In the evaluation process of paddy disease identification, 600 paddy crop samples were used to classify five paddy diseases and health leaves. The classification accuracy of 95.7% was obtained on the dataset.
