Abstract: Plants have been a traditional source of medicinal compounds, and they have been used to treat a variety of diseases in humans as well as animals. Many modern clinical drugs are derived from nature. More than half of all modern clinical drugs are derived from natural sources, and they play an important role in drug development in the pharmaceutical industry. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linnis a woody perennial plant that belongs to the Malvaceae family and is found throughout India. Hibiscus rosa-sinensisis said to be a wide range of therapeutic effects on a variety of ailments. This plant's roots, leaves, and flowers have been shown to have medicinal properties such as anti-inflammatory, antifungal, anti-microbial, oral contraceptive, laxative, aphrodisiac, menorrhagia etc. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn is expected to emerge as a major player in the growing field of herbal health supplements and medicines, both in daily self-care and in professionally managed health care systems, in the near future. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis leaves are widely available throughout India and are well known for their anti-diabetic properties. Herbal drug standardization includes physical, chemical, and biological parameters. Each extract underwent the qualitative phytochemical screening procedure. According to a phytochemical analysis, the three extracts contained alkaloids, tannins, saponins, triterpenoids, coumarins, steroids, and flavonoids. Through the current study, an attempt has been made to highlight this folk herbal medicine, which will aid in the identification of fresh as well as dried crude samples of leaves anatomically and physio chemically. Leaves have been cared for and reported on. The study provides a detailed botanical description, classification, traditional uses, extraction procedure, phytochemical study and phytochemical screening of the plant, which can help standardize herbal drugs.
