Calotropis gigantea was a medicinal herb traditionally used in AYUSH. Calotropis is a plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family, also known as Gaint milk leaf, commonly called madar (Indian) and rui (Marathi). Calotrope was considered a genetic resource and can be used as food, fertilizer, fuel, drug. Calotropis is found throughout India and some parts of Sri Lanka, Pakistan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Africa. Calotropis Gigantea extract has several active ingredients such as Giganteol, Isogiganthiol, B-amirin, A-B-Calotrope, Alkaloids, Terpenoids, Steroids, Flavonoids, Tannins, Saponins, Carbohydrates, Glycosides, Resins, Peroxide and Polyuronoid activity, etc. , Anthelmintic, antipyretic, antidiarrheal, flatulent, wound healing, insecticidal, heartburn, sedative, leprosy, ulcerative, astringent, tonic, antidote, colic, cholera and toothache.
