| Abstract: | Gold is one of those precious metals which have although taken many forms through the ages but are still respected throughout the world for their value and rich history. Gold has been a store of value for many years. It has maintained its value over time and has served as a form of insurance against adverse economic events, and because of this, investors tend to pile up their funds in the form of gold when events like these take place. Hence, it is observed that the demand for gold rises during economically challenging times, causing a further increase in its prices. Gold has also been found to stay strong all through the Covid-19 pandemic. Though there have been some fluctuations here and there, it has always come back dynamically on the back of higher financial investment demand. The study aims to analyze the prices of gold of last ten years from 2014-2023. It also aims to find out the impact on gold prices during the pre and post covid period. A major increase in the price of gold was found in the post covid period due to the economic uncertainty and macroeconomic crisis. |
