Abstract

This paper explores the role of low-code platforms in application programming interface (API) development, highlighting the benefits, challenges, key features, best practices, and future innovations. This article also discusses challenges such as data security, efficiency, vendor lock-in along with solutions offered to address these issues. It highlights best practices such as clear API design principles, collaborative cross-industry teams, emphasizing ongoing testing and documentation. These factors underscore the latter importance of adopting low-level code platforms for efficient API development. This explores future innovations, such as AI-driven code generation, microservice development, and integration with DevOps practices, showing a promising path towards faster API delivery, increased innovation, and increased connectivity in the digital landscape
