The aim of this study was to design and evaluate a sustained-release formulation. a commonly used anti-diabetic medication, to improve patient compliance and reduce dosing frequency.sustained-release tablets were prepared using various polymers, including hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), ethyl cellulose (EC), and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP). The tablets were evaluated for their physicochemical properties, in vitro drug release, and in vivo pharmacokinetic performance. The optimized formulation showed a controlled release of over 24 hours, with a release exponent (n) indicating non-Fickian diffusion. In vivo studies demonstrated a significant reduction in blood glucose levels, with a prolonged hypoglycemic effect. The results suggest that the developed sustained-release formulation of has the potential to improve therapeutic outcomes and enhance patient compliance in the management of diabetes mellitus.
