A study to assess the Effectiveness of health Teaching module on knowledge of mothers regarding prevention of malnutrition among 0-5 year children in rural area (Achrol) Jaipur (Rajasthan)
Malnutrition is a ―man made disease ‗which often‘ starts in the womb and ends in the tomb‖. Malnutrition and its associated retarding influences cause a lot of morbidity, growth faltering, developmental retardation and significant mortality. Government set a date of 2015 by which they would meet the millennium development goals. Among these the first goal is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, which is measured by prevalence of underweight children. Objective -1. To evaluate the effectiveness of health teaching module.2. To find out the association between the knowledge of mother‘s regarding prevention and control of malnutrition in selected demographic variables. Result- the mean posttest score is 72.2% which is significantly higher than the pretest score of 35.1%. The difference in the mean enhancement score is observed as 37.1%.Further, paired “t” value of pretest and posttest of the sample was found to be significant at 5% level (t=26.23*). However, the findings reveal that the structured teaching programme on prevention of malnutrition was effective teaching strategy. Mo demographic variable was have association with knowledge level. Conclusion- stp is a effective teaching strategy for knowledge enhancement
