In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, web servers play a crucial role in delivering web content and facilitating online interactions. However, the rising number of cyber threats and the increasing need for secure communication have made it imperative to prioritize security in the installation and configuration of web servers. This research paper focuses on the secure installation and configuration of the Nginx web server using an OpenSSL certificate to enable secure file upload and download functionality. It presents a comprehensive analysis of related technologies and algorithms, followed by the design and implementation details of the proposed solution. The performance and effectiveness of the implemented system are evaluated through the construction of an experimental environment and result analysis. The findings contribute insights into enhancing web server security and provide recommendations for future research in this domain. The paper begins by emphasizing the importance of secure file transfer in web server environments and the significance of Nginx and OpenSSL in ensuring data confidentiality and integrity during file upload and download processes. It discusses the underlying principles and concepts of related technologies and cryptographic algorithms, setting the groundwork for the proposed solution. The subsequent sections provide a step-by-step approach to the installation and configuration of Nginx with an OpenSSL certificate. Key considerations such as cryptographic key generation and management, secure protocol implementation (e.g., HTTPS), and proper configuration of file upload and download capabilities are addressed. An experimental environment is then constructed to validate the effectiveness and performance of the implemented solution, measuring metrics such as file transfer speed, data integrity, and system resource utilization. The research findings highlight successful implementation while offering recommendations for future research, including advanced cryptographic algorithms, scalability tests, and emerging security threat mitigation.
