The New Education Policy 2020 has brought hope to the next generation of learners by helping them prepare for life by gaining critical life skills. Built on the foundation of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability, this policy aligns itself with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to transform the new India into a knowledge superpower by redesigning college and school education and making it more holistic and multidisciplinary. This paper discusses how Goal 1 of SDG, “End poverty in all its forms everywhere,” can be achieved by spreading the awareness of Financial Literacy and working in the direction of making the new generation of India financially literate. The paper goes on to discuss the current Financial Literacy status of India, how NEP 2020 can help to promote Financial Literacy, and how teachers can promote Financial skills in the students at different levels of education. It also talks about skill-based learning and why it is important. The paper then concludes with some suggestions for the schools.
