The number of visually impaired people are increasing due to uncontrolled diabetes. To overcome these issues we develop Smart glasses with camera and raspberry pi attached to it. A small card size Raspberry pi board is responsible for image processing operation. Camera captures the image with the help of ultrasonic distance sensor, which is used to measure distance of the text board. Text detection is achieved by using openCV software, OCR tools and Tesseract which are based on some deep learning techniques. The text extracted from the image is converted from text to speech using Festival python library. In this way, a blind person is able to know the characters in front of him.
