Women empowerment in rural areas is a crucial aspect of social and economic development. This study explores the perception of women empowerment among rural communities, examining factors such as education, economic participation, social status, and decision-making power. While government policies and initiatives aim to uplift rural women, cultural norms, patriarchy, and lack of awareness often act as barriers. The research highlights how empowerment is perceived differently by men and women in rural settings and the role of self-help groups, NGOs, and education in transforming mind-sets. The findings suggest that although progress has been made, deep-rooted societal beliefs still hinder complete empowerment. Addressing these challenges requires community driven efforts, policy reforms, and active participation of both genders to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
