Teachers serve as the pillars of the education system. They play a crucial role in shaping the future generation. Despite their dedication, several factors influence the teaching profession, with job satisfaction being a key determinant. This study examines job satisfaction among secondary school teachers in Aizawl, Mizoram, across demographic factors like as gender, type of management, teaching experience, and educational qualification. Using a descriptive survey method, data were collected from 134 teachers through the Job Satisfaction Scale developed by Dr. Amar Singh and Dr. T.R. Sharma, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results indicate a generally high level of job satisfaction, with no significant differences based on gender, management type, or educational qualification, though teaching experience showed a significant influence. The study recommends exploring job satisfaction across different school levels and investigating additional factors like work environment, motivation, promotion opportunities, and pay scale.
