This study examines the investment behaviour of Generation Z and Millennials, with a focus on key factors such as financial literacy, risk tolerance, financial planning, social influence, and technology adoption. The research is based on primary data collected from 100 respondents using a structured questionnaire. A combination of descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques, including reliability analysis, discriminant validity, and path analysis, has been applied to evaluate the relationships among variables.
The findings reveal that investment behaviour is significantly influenced by behavioural and technological factors. Risk tolerance and technology adoption emerge as the most influential predictors, while financial literacy and financial planning also show a meaningful impact. The results further indicate that technology acts as a mediating variable, strengthening the relationship between social influence, financial literacy, and investment behaviour.
The multi-group analysis highlights clear generational differences, where Generation Z is more influenced by risk-taking, social media, and digital platforms, whereas Millennials demonstrate a more structured and knowledge-driven investment approach. The model shows strong explanatory and predictive power, confirming its robustness in analysing investment behaviour.
The study contributes to behavioural finance literature by providing insights into generational investment patterns and emphasizes the importance of technology in modern financial decision-making. The findings offer practical implications for financial institutions, policymakers, and investors to develop targeted strategies that enhance financial literacy and promote informed investment practices.
