Digital images are subject to blurring due to many hardware limitations, such as atmospheric disturbance, noise and low focus quality. Image de-blurring is used to recover the original, sharp image by using a model of the blurring process. The key issue is that some information on the lost details is indeed present in the blurred image but this information is “hidden” and can only be recovered with the blurring process.
Image deblurring has a wide area of applications like astronomy, space observations, medical imaging, microscopy, mechanical engineering. This paper is aimed to provide a basic knowledge of image degradation and restoration process and simulation of deblurring for the mechanical drawings.
