Skin is one of the body's largest organ and protects it from various types of external stimuli and damage as well as moisture loss as the skin is continuously exposed to sunlight, the UV-rays of sunlight stimulates the production of free radicals and may cause damage to DNA, collagen and elastin which are essential for elasticity and renewal process of the skin. Thus, to prevent or to reduce formation of free radicals it is necessary to strengthen the anti-oxidative network of the skin. Since, lignin is natural active as a sun screening agent. Various sources of lignin including green coffee, soy and papaya as well as banana leaves to sunscreen. Banana leaves will be selected as a source of lignin because banana leaves are reported as a high level of lignin.
