Here in this work ribs are used inside the solar duct. With the use of ribs, the performance of convex shape solar air heater increases to 3 to 4 times higher than the simple convex shape solar heater. For optimizing the pitch ratio, four different pitch ratio that are 0.1, 0.75, 0.05 and 0.025 m pitch ratio was considered during the numerical analysis. Through CFD analysis performed with the help of Ansys fluent, it is found that at 0.05 m pitch ratio solar air heat shows the maximum heat transfer. After analyzing the effect of different pitch ratio height of ribs was also analyzed and also analyzed the effect of change in heat flux value on absorber plate.
