Lemongrass ( Cymbopogon citratus ) belongs to the Poaceae family. It is a medicinal plant with compounds capable of controlling pathogens and increasing the resistance of herbs to pathogenic diseases. Lemongrass is commonly used in herbal teas and other non-alcoholic beverages. In baked goods, but also in sweets. Lemongrass essential oil is commonly used as a fragrance in perfumes and cosmetics such as creams and soaps. Lemongrass Essential Oil consists of a high content of Citral, which is used as a source for the production of beta-carotene and vitamin A, etc. Therefore, due to the presence of various chemical components in lemongrass oil, it is used in various pharmaceutical industries as antidepressant, analgesic, antipyretic, bactericidal, antiseptic, digestive and astringent properties.
