Abstract: The present study has been conducted to examine the research productivity on COVID-19, within the region of the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives) in 2022. The main objectives of the study are to find out the country with the highest number of publications on covid-19, the country with the highest citation and H-index, and the major contributing publishers, authors, and institutions. Data were extracted from the web of science citation database using the search terms ‘Covid-19’ or ‘Coronavirus’. The search was limited to ‘review articles, the year 2022’ from ‘Jan to June’, and countries of the “Indian subcontinent”. It is found that a total number of 3690 papers were published worldwide out of which, a total of 461 records are published from the Indian Subcontinent. The highest number of publications are produced in India (337) followed by Pakistan (58), Bangladesh (47), Sri Lanka (10), Nepal (9), Bhutan, and Maldives (0 each). Indian publications recorded the highest 316 citations followed by Bangladesh (131), Pakistan (43), Sri Lanka (13), and Nepal (4). Among the 7 countries, India topped the list with an H-index of 8 followed by Bangladesh (6), Pakistan (4), Sri Lanka (2), and Nepal (1).
