The study examined the effect of close-loop communication and team training on organizational performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The objectives of the study were basically to investigate the effect of close-loop communication and team training on the performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was used for the study. The population of the study was 2,492 out of which a sample of 345 was derived using the Taro Yamane’s formula. Instruments used for data collection was a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was checked for reliability using pilot survey method. 345 copies of questionnaire were administered and a response rate of 87% (300) was obtained. The hypotheses were tested using regression method, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23. Statistical values of 0.955 and 0.973 for close-looped communication and team training were obtained respectively at 5% (0.05) level of significant. The results of the analysis revealed that the performance of manufacturing firms is dependent on closed-loop communication and team training. Based on the findings, the study concluded that closed-loop communication and team training are sensitive and fundamental to the productivity and performance of manufacturing firms. The study recommends among others; that top management of manufacturing firms is advised to make sure that their team leaders communicate effectively with team members. Team leaders should include the entire team in the communication loop by letting team members know what other managers want them to know, listen to concerns of team members as well and communicate their ideas or comments to higher level managers who can respond to these concerns by making changes. Also, managements of manufacturing firms should ensure that their team training result in actionable ideas to help the team and the organization achieve their goals.
