Abstract: : With expanding consumer markets and volumes, production and consumption practices are severely harming the environment. The importance of this issue has been recognized by the government, consumers, and producers. Industries' research and development divisions are constantly attempting to create products that are eco-friendly and cause less environmental damage. Green products are frequently described as having healthy disposal options and the ability to be recycled. The government and non-governmental organizations both advocate for the production, marketing, and consumption of such products. Based on literature review, the present study attempts to study factors affecting purchase behavior of Green Household Appliances (GHA)/ Energy Efficient Appliances (EEAs). It also explores the level of awareness and attitude of Young Consumers towards GHA. Further, researchers have attempted to establish a relationship between attitude/awareness and Consumers readiness to purchase GHA. Primary data was collected from 177 young consumers from Gandhinagar, Gujarat which were analyzed using structured questionnaires. The findings of the study surface that young consumers are aware and possess a positive attitude towards purchase of GHA. Various constructs of Pro-Environmental Behaviour and Energy Savings have been at the core in the research. The study leads to a conclusion that there exists a negative correlation between Young Consumers’ Energy savings behaviour and Consumers readiness for purchase of GHA.
