| Abstract: | Abstract This critical study analyses the theme of inner struggle among the youth portrayed in Chetan Bhagat's novel "Five Point Someone." The study explores the characters' internal conflicts and struggles, as they navigate the expectations of their families and society, while also seeking personal fulfilment and happiness. The study examines how the characters rebel against the rigidity of the education system and societal norms, which often lead to a sense of hopelessness and anxiety about their future prospects. The study argues that the theme of inner struggle is a powerful representation of the challenges that young people face in modern Indian society, where societal and familial expectations can create additional stress and anxiety around their personal growth and development. Ultimately, this study sheds light on the importance of balancing personal aspirations and desires with the societal and familial pressures, in order to achieve a sense of personal fulfilment and happiness in life. |
