Abstract: Soil stabilization is essential when the soil does not meet the necessary engineering requirements for construction or use as a subgrade in pavements. To improve the soil's properties, additives can be mixed in, and solid waste can be utilized as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly stabilizer. Among various forms of solid waste, including agricultural, industrial, and mineral waste, certain wastes can positively impact soil strength when employed as stabilizers. Numerous studies have explored methods to enhance soil properties, and this particular study focuses on investigating the effects of adding Ceramic dust, an industrial waste in dust form, on soil properties. By incorporating Ceramic dust as a stabilizer, geotechnically important soil properties such as Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) can be improved, which are critical for determining soil strength. The study's findings demonstrate that the addition of Ceramic dust enhances the strength of subgrade soil, as indicated by the CBR test results. The CBR value increases up to a certain percentage of Ceramic dust content. Furthermore, the research reveals that by modifying the soil with Ceramic dust, it is possible to design flexible pavements with reduced thickness and construction costs, reaching the highest CBR value at the optimal Ceramic dust content.
