Voltage stability is important for power system design and operation. Under both typical and unusual operating circumstances, it refers to a power system's capacity to maintain acceptable voltage levels. The simulation findings can throw light on the power system's voltage stability constraints and aid in determining the steps that must be taken to maintain a stable voltage profile, such as reactive power compensation, load shedding, or modifications to generator dispatch. The analysis can determine the maximum or critical loading point at which the system voltage magnitude approaches a given threshold or a limit established by regulatory requirements.
