This paper discusses the situation of health care issues in humbrat village and also the challenges faced by the villagers while getting health services. One of the basic vitalities of good living is quick access to essential services like health care. But many times it could mean a condition of life and death for an individual who is unable to get the access to these services. Thus an important part of social sector development is incomplete without adequate health care facilities. Healthcare industry comprises hospitals, medical devices, clinical trials, outsourcing, telemedicine, medical tourism, health insurance and medical equipment. India’s healthcare delivery system is categorised into two major components - public and private. The government (public healthcare system), comprises limited secondary and tertiary care institutions in key cities and focuses on providing basic healthcare facilities in the form of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in rural areas. The private sector provides a majority of secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care institutions with major concentration in metros, tier-I and tier-II cities.
This paper describes the status of healthcare facilities in Humbart village, the physical and mental health status of the people in this village, are they benefiting from the available facilities, what are the diseases, how much are they spending on health, what is the quality of the health facilities available, how much is the literacy of the people about health and hygiene and also suggest few health sector reforms measures, responsibilities of various stakeholders.
