Abstract: Geatational diabetes is one of the most common health problems for pregnant woman.It is has glucose intolerance of variable severity with onset or first recognition during the present pregnancy.Woman in second and third trimester are more prone to gestational diabetes .Prevalence of GDM is increased world wide.There is no reference of GDM in ayureveda, but Garbh vridhi is correlated with GDM because in Garbh vridhi there is excessive increase in size of abdomen ,over weight fetus ,macrosomia, perspiration and labour is difficult .So it is observed that obesity is linked to the body being insulin resistance3. Diabets is the most common medical complication of pregnancy and it has increased by about 40%. So , medical intervention is important to treat this condition . The management of GDM aims to mediate the effacts of hyperglycemia by controlling blood glucose levels. The main way to treat GDM is through lifestyle changes such as diet,exercise and checking blood glucose levels. In Ayurveda3 , Aacharya Charak explained Nisha- Aamalaki Churna with honey in the management of Prameha . It is safest formulation which can be given in the pregnancy . Because Nisha ( Turmeric ) is very common drug which is used in daily routine so it is satmya to female along with this Aamalaki is Panchrasatmak ( except Lavan ) , it’s Kashaya Rasa , Ruksha Guna decreases Kapha Dosha & Amla Rasa , Madhur Vipak reduces Vata Dosha & Madhur Rasa , Sheeta Veerya reduces Pitta Dosha . It is good Rasayan Dravya & rich source of vit. C
