Ophthalmic products are aseptic preparations consisting of specific dose forms that can be applied to the outside of the eye. Even the smallest amount of inflammation in the eyes can result in severe pain, infections, swelling, allergies, problems with vision, long-term damage, and blindness. For this reason, analytical tests and evaluations must be strictly adhered to in all ophthalmic medications. To assess the integrity, drug release, and other characteristics related to the pharmaceutical performance in vivo of the ophthalmic preparations, procedures, and established standards for evaluating them are categorized into quality control tests and overall performance checks. Conventional quality control methods for ocular preparations include identity, potency, purity, sterility particulate matter, dissolving tests, so on other important.
