| Abstract: | Employment generation programs have been playing an important role as catalysts in rural development. It has made a transformative change in the socio-economic conditions of rural communities. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), has been a leading program in India since its inception. It has not only provided employment opportunities for rural unemployed people but has also affected the socio-economic tapestry of rural communities by creating sustainable infrastructure, empowering rural inhabitants and fostering a sense of community resilience. MGNREGA has been successful in eradicating severe poverty by providing income sources for livelihood. Jaipur, being the capital and economic hub of Rajasthan, has experienced a transformative change in the socio-economic scenario of its rural parts. The contribution of MGNREGA has been immense.
