Title:- Asses the edification regarding organ donation among final year nursing students in view of conducting a informative program
Objectives:
Assess the edification in terms of Knowledge, attitude and awareness regarding organ donation
Correlate the edification in terms of knowledge, attitude and awareness regarding organ donation
Associate the edification in terms of knowledge, attitude and awareness regarding organ donation with selected demographic variable.
Conduct an informative program regarding organ donation.
Materials and Methods:
A Quantitative research approach with Descriptive research design was used on 140 final year Nursing students were included in the study, each student were given informative programme on organ donation. The socio demographic data was collected. The knowledge, attitude and awareness level was assessed by structure questionnaire. Descriptive statics and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data.
Results: The findings related to edification regarding organ donation. There is significant association exists in the terms of knowledge and attitude at p value >0.05. According to knowledge level 55.0% of them are having good knowledge, 45.0% are having average knowledge and 0.0% are having poor knowledge, according to attitude 32.1% of them are having positive attitude, 63.6% are having neutral attitude and 4.3% are having negative attitude, according to awareness 24.3% of them are fully awared, 70.7% are partially awared , 5.0% are unaware, regarding organ donation. The data shows there is there is significant correlation between knowledge and awareness at p value 0.042, in terms of knowledge and attitude there was no significance correlation at p valve 0.075 and in terms of awareness and attitude there is significant correlation at p value 0.005.
Conclusion:
The following conclusions were made on the basis of the finding of the study: the final year nursing students are having good knowledge with neutral attitude and are partially awared regarding organ donation.
