Blockchain provides businesses with genuine, verifiable, and unchangeable data to engage customers and better understand their supply chain. By gathering important information, including certificates and claims, and making it publicly accessible, transparency fosters public trust. It is said that blockchain technology will transform everything. Blockchain technology is regarded by many experts as one of the most disruptive developments. Following notable achievements in the banking and financial industry, blockchain technology has seen substantial success across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, disaster relief, and many more. The academician has recently made a significant contribution to our understanding of blockchain technology and how it is used in the field of management. We conducted a thorough analysis of the literature published in peer-reviewed journals using databases like SCOPUS in order to comprehend how the literature on blockchain technology in the supply chain has developed. Our literature has been further classified into four stages: application, adoption, implementation, and pre-adoption. Over the past several years, blockchain technology has become more and more significant and widely accepted. However, there is a dearth of empirical study on the organizational and technological characteristics that are vital in propelling the uptake of this technology in the supply chain. The aim of this research is to identify the enablers and experimentally evaluate their interdependencies and adoption impact in order to establish a comprehensive framework for blockchain adoption throughout the supply chain. Using a thorough literature study, theoretical perspectives from the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory, and the business technology adoption model created by Iacovou, Benbassat, and Dexter (1995), 20 facilitators of blockchain adoption throughout the supply chain are identified.
