Abstract: Heparin is a glycosaminoglycan family sulfated polysaccharide that is used to treat thrombocytopenia and hemorrhage. For the prevention of venous thromboembolism, low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) are typically recommended over unfractionated heparin due to their similar effectiveness and decreased risk of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. This work produced low molecular weight heparin injection, packed it in new packaging (prefilled syringes made of polypropylene and cyclo-olefin polymer), and assessed its durability and compatibility against glass, a reference standard material. The study's goal is to construct and assess low molecular weight heparin in prefilled syringes as a unit dosage medication delivery method, with the ultimate goal being the safe and efficient selection of appropriate, compatible packing material. Cyclo-olefin polymer was found to have evaluated values that were comparatively closer to the reference standard (glass) than Polypropylene. As a result, Cyclo-olefin polymer may be a good choice for packaging prefilled heparin syringes. Therefore, cyclo-olefin polymer could be regarded as a new and affordable packaging material for heparin prefilled syringes
