Abstract: The sole goal of this current research is to develop an immediate release tablet of thyroid hormone (T4), a low dose and potent drug molecule by adopting recent techniques in the formulation development and to improve and ensure content uniformity in the proposed formulation. Blend uniformity was optimized and compared based on blending time (10,20 and 30 mins) as Process variable using Octagonal blender and Rapid Mixing Granulator. 30th min blend of Rapid Mixing Granulator was taken for formulation of immediate release tablet by Direct compression. FR3 formulation were evaluated for different pre and post compression parameter studies. The results of precompression parameters of FR3 formulation were compared with prescribed limits. It showed that FR3 formulation powder blend exhibit good flow property. The disintegration time of all formulation was found to be 5 mins 30 secs. It is concluded that formulated immediate release tablet of Thyroid hormone (T4) was found to improve and ensure the content uniformity.
