Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is considered most prevalent gastrointestinal disorder characterized by debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms. The condition mainly affects people with poor digestive strength and has become leading cause of abdominal pain among them. In Ayurveda conditions can be attributed to Agnimandya and the symptoms often correlated with Grahani Dosha. Poor diet, stress, environmental influences and erratic schedules, etc. mainly put favorable condition for occurrence of IBS. Consumption of junk foods or poor dietary habits mainly play vital role in disease progression. This article presents a case of 21-year-old male patient who reported with complaint of abdominal pain, disturbed bowel movement, constipation and loose stools with mucus discharge, etc. The patient was successfully treated with Ayurveda principle using poly-herbal formulation (Toxifree Syrup) along with dietary restrictions.
