The term "nephrotoxicity" refers to the quickly declining kidney function brought on by the harmful effects of drugs and chemicals. There are several variations, and certain medications may have several effects on renal function. Substances that exhibit nephrotoxicity are known as nephrotoxins. Nephrotoxicity is caused by several causes, such as thrombotic microangiopathy, glomerular injury, inflammation, renal tubular toxicity, and crystal nephropathy. Blood urea and serum creatinine are the conventional indicators of nephrotoxicity and renal dysfunction, how ever they are thought to be less sensitive in identifying early renal impairment.the main objective of his review is to find the roles and significance of biomarkers in the identification of nephrotoxicity and plants which has the nephroprotective properties
