Abstract: Communication and information technology have altered the landscape of how marketers interact with customers in this era of digital marketing. It is favoured since it is more cost-effective and less expensive than an offline strategy.Megastores that operate online have embraced it widely. However, there are several examples of dishonest business tactics by internet retailers. Customers are developing a bad attitude towards internet buying as a result of this. Indian consumers are beginning to feel more confident yet still being wary. However, at this early stage of its development, reports and incidents of dishonesty, fraud, and abuse of bank account information are creating obstacles for the advancement of digital marketing. In addition, a lot of marketers contact consumers in unethical methods. Everyone knows that by tampering with the IP address or even spoofing the email address, it is simple to assume the identity of any other online user. The use of digital marketing in an unethical or fraudulent manner to defraud the average consumer has raised the stakes and made marketers' jobs more challenging.
