This paper examines the relationship between decent work and economic growth using a panel data set of 100 countries from 2000 to 2020. The results show a positive and significant relationship, with an improvement of one standard deviation in the overall decent work index associated with a 0.3 percentage point increase in annual GDP growth per capita. The individual components of decent work also have a positive impact on economic growth, with social protection and working conditions having the strongest effects. The findings suggest that investing in decent work is important for improving the well-being of workers and promoting sustainable economic growth.
