| Abstract: | Manipur's Census enumerated migration figures are grossly inconsistent with underlying figures of birth rate and death rate. It is also inconsistent with the linguistic data. Such inconsistencies do not help the anxieties and concerns in the State about a demographic invasion from the bigger Indian States as well as the neighbouring countries. A Census exercise of irrefutable integrity is the utmost need of the hour. |
