Abstract: Efficient data management is crucial for enhancing patient care and optimizing healthcare delivery systems. This research paper provides a comprehensive analysis of various healthcare data structures, including relational, hierarchical, and network databases. The study examines these data structures based on criteria such as efficiency, scalability, and interoperability, highlighting their respective strengths and weaknesses. Relational databases demonstrate high efficiency for structured queries and transactions, making them suitable for traditional healthcare applications. Hierarchical databases excel in managing data with clear parent-child relationships but can become cumbersome with increased complexity. Network databases, known for handling complex many-to-many relationships, offer superior scalability and interoperability, essential for advanced healthcare analytics and patient care coordination. The study identifies common challenges in healthcare data management, such as data silos, interoperability issues, and data quality variability. Through detailed case studies, the research illustrates practical implications, showcasing both successful and problematic implementations. The findings emphasize the importance of selecting appropriate data structures based on specific healthcare needs and recommend best practices for enhancing data integration and management. By advancing the understanding of healthcare data structures, this research aims to facilitate better data-driven decision-making and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
