Investors' preferences and perceptions towards investing in funds are influenced by many factors like savings habits, opinions of peers, friends and relatives, access to information about mutual funds, investment willingness, and risk tolerance. The present study mainly focuses on the perception and preference of investment in mutual funds as varying degrees of selection of mutual funds has been shown by different investors based on their level of education, demographic features, levels of income, qualification etc. The prospective investors’ willingness to invest in mutual funds shows a positive trend fuelled by the technological advancement, Securities Exchange Board of India’s Investors Awareness Campaigns, professional management of the funds, knowledge about investment and markets.
