| Abstract: | The most common degenerative illness affecting the elderly is osteoarthritis (OA), which is a major cause of considerable daily living disability. Its pathological alterations in the structure of the knee joint, such as cartilage erosion, synovial inflammation, and subchondral sclerosis with osteophyte formation, are due to a complex aetiology. There is currently no effective treatment that can stop the pathological progression of OA, and the measures used in current therapy are primarily nonpharmacological and pharmacological and are used before surgery. |
