English, as an official language, plays a remarkable role in global communication. In the 21st century, the world has increasingly become dependent on digital platforms, which have posed numerous challenges to traditional teaching and learning methods. For today's generation, technology is not only easily accessible but has also become a major tool to enhance communication and English language skills. As a result, English teachers are compelled to adopt technology-based, productive teaching methods to stay relevant in this rapidly evolving landscape. With the surge in smartphone usage, the entire world is now connected through the internet, and social media applications have emerged as powerful tools for enhancing English language proficiency. Well-known social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube have shown themselves to be useful tools for language learning, allowing students to connect with academics, mentors, researchers, authors, and social activists worldwide. These platforms promote student engagement and connection in addition to giving access to various language-related content. TEDx presentations, motivational speeches, audiobooks, podcasts, English news, journaling, and fictional stories can all inspire students to use social media platforms to improve their English. Social media can be used to enhance and support language learning and acquisition, even though they are two different processes. This study examines how social media platforms can be useful, entertaining resources for enhancing English language learning and acquisition, providing educators and learners with fresh approaches to bridging the gap between formal education and everyday, informal language use.
