This paper examines the potential of blockchain technology in addressing issues of fraud, transparency, and inefficiency in government welfare programs. With a focus on Maharashtra's Ladki Bahan Yojana, the study proposes how blockchain could be leveraged to enhance the authenticity of beneficiary identification, ensure accurate fund distribution, and improve oversight, while also addressing technical and regulatory challenges. It concludes that blockchain has the capacity to significantly strengthen the integrity of such welfare initiatives.
