The rapid expansion of e-commerce has transformed consumer shopping behavior, particularly in the grocery retail sector. This study explores the factors influencing consumer preferences between online grocery shopping and traditional grocery shopping in Kolkata. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire from 100 respondents, examining key factors such as convenience, product availability, pricing, and delivery services. The findings indicate that online grocery shopping is gaining traction due to its ease of access, time-saving benefits, and attractive discounts. However, concerns over product quality, freshness, and delivery hygiene remain significant barriers. The study also highlights the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in accelerating the shift towards online grocery platforms like BigBasket, BlinkIt, and JioMart. The insights from this research provide valuable implications for online retailers to enhance their services and address consumer concerns, ensuring long-term market sustainability.
